W. Brothers emerged from a humble beginning—founded by Chris Warkenton on a daring $25,000 credit leap using his wife's credit card. Chris, a former Regional Account Manager for a national landscape company that had recently lost its small-business charm after being bought out, found himself drowning in a sea of spreadsheets and reports, overshadowing the once-cherished emphasis on teamwork and customer satisfaction. 

In parallel, Kyle, working as an irrigation technician for a regional landscape company, shared Chris's frustration and held a burning desire to embark on a family-owned venture. United by this common vision, the brothers bid farewell to their corporate roles, immersing themselves in the challenging world of commercial landscape. They tirelessly mowed and blowed until their legs literally gave out.

The ability to adapt and grow helped the brothers push through their initial challenges – and eventually their hard work paid off. Word of mouth became the secret weapon that fueled their growth, and the duo quickly found themselves working tirelessly for 12 to 14 hours a day. The turning point came when Abel joined as the third member of the team. This addition allowed Chris to divert some attention to their customers, marking a pivotal moment for the business.   

The initial goal was simple: get better. Better at efficiency, communication, and, fundamentally, at being a genuine business. Untrained at running a business and without formal business education, the brothers embraced a guiding principle that has become the cornerstone of W. Brothers today: mistakes are inevitable. When they happen, rectify them at any cost, and learn from them so they don’t happen again.  

With this simple yet powerful ethos, W. Brothers won the admiration and support of commercial property managers and owners across Southern California. Rapid growth ensued over the following years, bringing not just business expansion but also an expanding family. Customers and new team members became an integral part of this family-centric journey. Throughout the early years of growth and beyond, W. Brothers has not only sustained but fostered this ethos, making every customer and team member feel like part of the extended family.
